My name is Darby, and I am the owner of Moonlit Petrichor.
I love all things Victorian, witchy, sparkly and moody. I call my style Lorelai Gilmore meets broke a** vampire. I am a childless millennial with 2 cats, 3 dogs, a bearded dragon, one remaining guinea pig and his spinster rabbit companion. I am an artist, baker, crafter and broke entrepreneur. I jumped into this dream without a plan or any ideas on how to make it work. But here I am 5 years later; finishing out my biggest year yet, with a new location, new partner and new goals.
What is Moonlit Petrichor?
Moonlit Petrichor is a place where the creative outcasts thrive.
In 2020 I started Moonlit Petrichor as a way to sell the overabundance of soap I had created. Not sure what to expect. 2 years later I found my first location and expanded Moonlit to welcome other local artists. Moonlit Petrichor is now home to 15 or so local creators.
It doesn’t stop there. I also carry a carefully curated selection of handmade candles all made in house by yours truly, featuring 20-30 custom blends you won’t find anywhere else. Along with coffees, teas, incense, seeds, tarot cards and books. All sourced from small businesses that are either, woman owned, based in the Midwest, and/or LGBTQ friendly. And all ethically sourced and cruelty free!
As a whole, Moonlit Petrichor is a chill, eclectic, boutique, located in a small Missouri town. Where authenticity and ethical standards matter. Where my love for animals shines through my cruelty free practices. Along with welcoming the weird and misplaced artists.
